Business entity: DS Webhosting Services — ABN 42 988 054 565
Covered sites:
dswebhosting.net.au Zindle.com.au Smokonews.com.au
This policy applies across all sites listed above.

Note: apps published by DS Webhosting (including Director's Cut and Brush Time) are governed by their own separate privacy policies, published on their respective app store listings, not by this document.

1. Who we are

DS Webhosting Services (ABN 42 988 054 565) is an Australian business. We are the entity responsible for the collection and handling of personal information described in this policy across dswebhosting.net.au, Zindle.com.au, and Smokonews.com.au.

2. What we collect

We keep data collection deliberately minimal. The only personal information we collect is what you directly provide to us when:

  • Creating an account for hosting, domain, or related services
  • Creating an account on Zindle.com.au
  • Contacting us with an enquiry

This typically includes your name, email address, and any other information you choose to provide as part of setting up an account or getting in touch with us.

3. What we don't collect

We do not use website analytics or tracking tools (such as Google Analytics) on any of our sites. We do not run advertising trackers. We do not collect browsing behaviour data, and we do not build profiles of visitors who are simply browsing our sites without creating an account.

4. How we use it

We use the information you provide for the following purposes only:

InformationPurpose
Account details (name, email) Setting up and managing your hosting, domain, or Zindle account; communicating with you about your account
Contact form / enquiry details Responding to your enquiry. We do not add enquiries to any mailing list — we simply reply.

We do not send marketing emails or newsletters. The only emails you will receive from us are direct replies to something you've sent us, or operational communications related to a service you've signed up for (such as a renewal notice).

5. Payment data

We do not collect or store payment card details on our own systems. Payments for services, including Zindle.com.au, are processed directly by our third-party payment processors:

  • Stripe — see Stripe's own Privacy Policy
  • PayPal — see PayPal's own Privacy Policy

Your card details are provided directly to these processors and are never transmitted to or stored on DS Webhosting's own infrastructure.

6. Third-party services

In the course of providing our services, we work with a small number of third-party providers:

  • TPP Wholesale — for domain registration and hosting infrastructure
  • Stripe and PayPal — for payment processing, as described above
  • Microsoft — where you purchase Microsoft 365 services through us

We only share the information with these providers that is necessary for them to deliver the relevant part of the service. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing or any other purpose.

7. Storage & security

Account information is stored on infrastructure managed by DS Webhosting Services and our hosting provider, TPP Wholesale. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information we hold, including server hardening practices and access controls. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, but we are committed to protecting the limited information we collect to a high standard.

8. Sharing your data

We do not share your personal information with third parties except:

  • Where necessary to deliver a service you've signed up for (e.g. passing payment details to Stripe or PayPal to process a transaction)
  • Where required by Australian law, such as in response to a valid legal request
  • Where you have given us explicit consent to do so

9. Access & correction

You can request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, at any time by contacting us using the details below. We will respond to reasonable requests within a reasonable timeframe, consistent with our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

10. Our apps

DS Webhosting Services also publishes apps, including Director's Cut and Brush Time. These apps are governed by their own separate privacy policies, available on their respective Google Play listings, and are not covered by this website privacy policy. In general:

  • Brush Time does not collect any personal data. Information such as reminder times and usage history remains entirely on your device and is never transmitted to us or anyone else.
  • Director's Cut's specific data handling is set out in its own privacy policy, linked from its Google Play listing.

11. Cookies

Our websites do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Where a cookie is strictly necessary for a site to function (for example, to keep you logged into an account area), we use only what is necessary for that purpose.

12. Children's privacy

Our websites and account-based services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through dswebhosting.net.au, Zindle.com.au, or Smokonews.com.au. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

14. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below so we can address your concern directly. If you remain unsatisfied, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
